🧲 Born in the Print Farm: The Story Behind Tibs3DPrints Fidgets
If you’ve followed Tibs3DPrints for a while, you already know we love to tinker.
Our print farm is where ideas come to life, where late-night experiments and coffee-fueled sessions turn into something real.
This time, it led to something magnetic, literally.
⚡ How It All Started
We first spotted a creator, Mozziemakes, on TikTok sharing their own version of a magnetic fidget.
It looked simple, but something about it clicked (pun intended). I opened Fusion 360, started sketching, and before long, our first version of the Tibs3DPrints fidget was born.
That spark led to a full design journey prototyping, testing, tweaking, and pushing until it felt just right.
🧩 Six Versions Later
It took six prototypes to land on the design you can hold today.
We even sold a few earlier versions to test how they felt in real hands.
What launched this week is technically Version 6, but it’s the third public release and easily our best one yet.
Every iteration taught us something new: how the magnets interact, how the foam absorbs pressure, and how micro-adjustments make a macro difference.
🧠 The Build: Simple, Smart, and Satisfying
Our fidgets use neodymium magnets, 2 mm thick, in two different diameters — one tuned for the clicky experience and one for the silent version.
We engrave EVA foam inserts to create the thumb rest, which also locks the magnets in place.
Late in the process, we made a key decision: leave the magnets out until final assembly. That change gave us a cleaner finish and way better quality control.
We print with Bambu Lab’s PLA Basic on a carbon-fiber texture plate, releasing the collection in five colors: pink, purple, blue, green, and gold.
And the secret sauce?
A precisely calibrated gap between the magnet surfaces, just enough to feel resistance without stiffness.
The result: buttery-smooth motion that feels engineered, not improvised.

The clicky version delivers tactile vibration you can feel through your fingers; perfect for those who love feedback.
The silent one gives a subtle, snappy glide from pole to pole. Both are addictive in their own way.
